Hi! I'm Ashlee and I'm glad you're here!
I do marketing and tax preparation in SOUTHERN California.
After high school, I expected to take on college and run off into a career of broadcast journalism. As you can tell from the previous sentence, that didn't exactly happen. BUT YOU CAN READ ALL ABOUT THAT BELOW.
THROUGHOUT MY YEARS IN THE RETAIL, MARKETING, EVENT AND TAX AND FINANCIAL INDUSTRIES, I CAME ACROSS PEOPLE WHO NEEDED HELP TO PRESENT THEIR WORTH. THAT'S WHERE ASHLEE CHU MARKETING CAME IN - TO EQUIP & ENCOURAGE YOU TO LIVE OUT YOUR WORTH IN YOUR WORK.
THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY:
Laughing with my family
The smell and sound of the Pacific Ocean
Flowers and the Sun
Encouraging those around me
Cuddling with my man
Finding a good deal
Movie theater popcorn (with butter)
FROM BROADCASTING DREAMS TO EVENT PLANNING TO RESUMES & TAXES
In 2008, I went off to study Business Communications at Azusa Pacific University. One of my communications professors assigned each student to keep a blog for the semester. After the class was over, I forgot all about it until I decided to use it as a way to keep in contact with a group of girls I mentored on campus. It was then that I realized blogging was more than a seemingly ignored online space and could spark conversation and build relationships.
In 2011, I made my way to San Diego to become an international Event Coordinator at Invisible Children and a Brand Ambassador for a NIKE event company in Hollywood. In my spare time, I contributed articles to Foundation Restoration and Peristeria Magazine. Later, I served as a social media manager for the Be.Loved community and was a Hootsuite Ambassador for North America.
Since 2012, I continue to contribute my marketing and client care services to a family-owned tax and financial services firm; based in Southern California. In 2014, I earned the Registered Paraplanner® designation from the College for Financial Planning and CTEC Registered Tax Preparer designation through the California Tax Education Council. As of 2016, I became an Enrolled Agent licensed through the Department of Treasury.
No matter which position I filled, I continuously came across individuals who didn't know how to market their value. I felt God place those same individuals on my heart to help them in that very area. That's when I decided to take myself down to the Country Recorder's office and started what is now Ashlee Chu Marketing (ACM). ACM is a private marketing service for young and seasoned professionals alike to market their worth with résumés and social media marketing.
